Intact Insurance has launched this year’s edition of the Channel Islands Apprenticeship Programme.
Aimed at school leavers, graduates, and individuals aged 16 and over, and based in Guernsey and Jersey, the scheme allows participants to start a career in insurance without leaving the islands.
The apprenticeship lasts three and a half years and combines practical work with structured study, with apprentices working towards Chartered Insurance Institute qualifications, with all fees and tuition fully funded by the company.
There’s no previous insurance experience is necessary to apply, with participants rotating through various departments, including underwriting, claims, IT, operations, and administration.
Sarah Beatty, Managing Director, said the programme aims to demonstrate the variety and purpose found within the insurance industry.
“Insurance isn’t always the first career that comes to mind, but it’s an industry which is full of variety, and real purpose.
“Through the Intact Channel Islands Apprenticeship Programme, we want to show young people that a career in insurance can be truly rewarding – offering the chance to grow, learn and make a meaningful difference to individuals, businesses, and our wider community.”
Applications for the 2026 intake are currently open through the Intact Insurance website.
