A new platform has launched offering the chance to search and book tables at many of Guernsey’s restaurants on a single site.

tabl.gg covers 57 restaurants already, across a variety of different styles and price ranges.

Luke Jameson, who developed the site, said users can type in the genre they want to eat and search, such as ‘seafood for four on Friday at 7pm’.

“The platform checks live availability across every restaurant at once,” he explained. “You can then pick where you want, click the time, and it’s booked. No redirects, no typing your details in every time. All you need to do is make an account to get started booking.”

Mr Jameson said he created the platform because he was frustrated by calling around individual restaurants.

“There was no way to see what was available across the island at a glance.

“For a small island with a strong dining scene and a large number of tourists over the year, it is a big gap of convenience and discoverability.

“tabl.gg aims to bring a unified, real-time booking experience that’s common in larger markets but hasn’t existed here before. It’s built for the island, by someone who lives here, and it’s free for diners.”

The platform’s core features include a ‘natural-language search’, meaning you can simply type in the food that you want to eat.

It then offers a live availability check across all participating restaurants.

Users can then compare results and make a booking.

Mr Jameson is a software developer who has already launched other platforms in Guernsey such as roads.gg (road closure reporting), airways.gg (airport departure board), and seas.gg (tides, sea temp and bathing pool times).
