Staff at The International Stock Exchange raised more than £5,000 for charity through various fundraising activities during 2024, including raffles, bake sales, a quiz night, and an afternoon tea, with the money being matched by their employer.
This meant in total TISE staff raised £10,630 for Safer, a Guernsey charity supporting those experiencing domestic abuse.
Laura Cornelius, Head of HR at TISE, said: “We are so pleased to be able to help Safer by raising this significant sum for the charity. It is great to see our team come together through various activities and have such a fun time while also raising funds for such a worthy cause. I hope that the money raised will be of real benefit to the charity in its work to assist those experiencing domestic abuse.”
Safer will allocate the funds to its Children and Young Person’s Violence Advisor (CYPVA) Service said Louise Johnson, Business Support and Development Manager at Safer.
“We are very grateful for this support from TISE. Our CYPVAs work with children and young people ages 4 to 21 who have either experienced domestic abuse in their families or in their own intimate relationships. This service has grown so much since it started in 2014, and has become an essential part of our crisis, support, and intervention services. Our CYPVAs help young people to process their experiences, build safety plans and support and advocate for them in a multi-agency framework. These funds from TISE will help to keep this vital service running.”
TISE also supported three staff members in Safer Spaces Champion training and made donations to similar charities in Jersey and London. The Guernsey Cheshire Home has been chosen as TISE’s charity of choice for 2025.
