The life insurance company based in Guernsey donated around £12,000 to three local charities in Guernsey in 2019.

The money was raised through the staff’s fundraising activities throughout the year, with donations matched by Utmost Worldwide. A further £1,000 was donated to the Hurricane Dorian relief fund in the Bahamas.

The majority of the funds, around £10,000, were donated to Utmost Worldwide’s nominated charity for 2019, Ernie’s Angels – a Guernsey-based charity that provides financial support to families with children who require palliative care.

Donations were also made to Animal Aid and Paws for Support.

“2019 was an excellent year for fundraising. Fundraising is part of our company initiative “By the staff, from the staff”, which is a part of our broader Corporate Social Responsibility programme,” said Tony Mealing, Head of Operational Governance and Customer Services at Utmost Worldwide.

“The staff really went above and beyond any expectations for these worthwhile charities.”

Giorgio Daboni, CEO of Utmost Worldwide, added: “I am very proud of the staff for their efforts and the time that they have put into the fundraising. What a fantastic amount they managed to raise for some great charities based both locally and abroad.”
