Activities included a “ZEDRA Challenge”, which saw staff cycle and row a total of 100 miles, more than the combined coast lines of Guernsey and Jersey, using static equipment. Volunteers cycled or rowed in 15 minute or 30 minute time slots throughout the day.
ZEDRA staff also participated in sports-themed fancy dress, a cake sale, ‘A Question of Sport Relief’ quiz and a ‘caption’ competition. Russ Smith, co-founder of TRI Fitness, gave an inspirational talk on changing bad habits into good ones and provided an exercise at work class.
Collectively, ZEDRA’s 40 staff raised more than £300, including matched giving from ZEDRA Guernsey, for a local sports-related charity that will be selected by all those that took part.
Julien Sharpe, managing director of ZEDRA Guernsey, said: “I’m very proud of our staff, their enthusiasm and determination to raise as much money as possible throughout the day was fantastic. It was highly enjoyable and great to promote the importance of health and wellbeing across the company as well as raise some all-important funds for a local charity.”
