The Head of Asset Allocation, Tristan Hanson, and the Head of Equities, Jonathan Schiessl, have both been appointed to the board of Ashburton (Jersey) Limited, whilst Alan le Maistre and Craig Farley have taken up new investment positions.

Mr Hanson is responsible for leading the implementation of Ashburton’s investment philosophy across its core multi-asset product range. He joined the business in 2008, having previously worked for seven years as a strategist for JP Morgan Cazenove.

Mr Schiessl leads the global equity teams with a focus on specialist and regional teams, in particular India, China, Africa and energy. He joined in 2000 having previously worked for Bank Julius Baer and other financial institutions in London.

MD Peter Bourne said:  “I am pleased to welcome Tristan and Jonathan to the board. As long-standing members of our investment team, their combined wealth of knowledge and expertise will make a significant contribution to the company’s future growth. They bring considerable experience in asset management to the governance of the Ashburton International business in Jersey, especially as we look to extend our distribution into new markets.”

At the same time, Craig Farley has succeeded Mr Schiessl as lead Investment Manager of the Chindia Equity Fund, having worked closely with him on both the Indian and Chinese markets for a number of years.

Alan Le Maistre has been promoted to the position of Investment Manager. As well as continuing to work on the global energy fund, he will also take on a new role as a member of the global equity strategy forum.
