Sam (pictured with her dog Honey) and Richard O’Connor have secured the upper floor above the M&S franchise for their new 7,600 square foot gym.

It will include equipment that is totally “unique” to the island and promises a health club experience, with a chiropractor, masseuse, sauna and sports nutrition all available on site.

The brother and sister team say they are building on their business model of creating innovative, modern fitness and well-being facilities in unconventional settings. At Liberty Wharf, they intend to work with the existing architecture, to create a space with character, as well as delivering high quality service and state of the art equipment.

Announcing the launch of their new project, the duo said: “We are excited to see our project come to life. Our mission has always been to provide a full service, state of the art gym that retains the care and character of a family-run, local business and we are delighted that this will become a reality.”

The new gym is set to open later this year, with prices for a standard adult membership starting at £45 per month.
