The local company, which also owns Crab Shack, Oyster Box and Banjo, is planning to begin operating from Elizabeth Terminal’s former Shipyard restaurant at Easter.
It will be offering hot drinks, ‘grab and go’ food, and a bar – similar to the offer it has operated at Jersey Airport since July last year on an initial nine-month lease, which has recently been extended until the end of 2023 – as well as a ‘click and collect’ service.
Ports first began looking for a new catering partner last July, after the Casual Dining Group, which ran The Shipyard, went into administration as a result of covid.
Though JPRestaurants had initially stepped in to provide a Café Ubé at the harbour to go alongside its Airport outlet in July, restricted public access to the Elizabeth Terminal at the time meant this did not go ahead.
Ports sent out another Invitation to Tender in November, but yesterday confirmed it would be continuing its partnership with JPRestaurants. The new premises is expected to open around April.
