The staff from Grand Jersey wanted to reach out to the elderly residents of the parish this season, helping to ensure that they all have a very merry Christmas.
Afternoon tea commences at around 3pm, following the annual Age Concern Carol Concert, and the festive get together will be extra special for two of those attending, as Maurice Marie will celebrate his 92nd birthday on Wednesday 16th December and Noelle Stevens who also shares this birthday, will be celebrating a fantastic 98 years!
Commenting on the event Daphne Minihane MBE, DSG Chairman of Age Concern Jersey, said: “We are absolutely delighted with this lovely Christmas gesture from Grand Jersey. We are thrilled that they will be coming along and meeting some of the older people and giving them an afternoon to remember at this special time of year.”
Martin Kelly, general manager of Grand Jersey, said: “Age Concern in a great charity, they don’t receive any States funding and it is this time of year when their work is truly appreciated. Grand Jersey is proud to be able to assist them in any way we can. We hope that the event is a great success and that those attending enjoy the pastry skills from our new Executive Chef, Nicolas Valmagna.”
