The approach is the brainchild of sisters Nichola and Karen Slatter, who were keen to address the fact that wellbeing concerns – and men’s mental health in particular – are often sidelined in what is a traditionally male-dominated industry.
The hope is that employees will use the days for self-care, and that this will help to increase productivity.

Karen, who is a company Director and FAA Level 3 Award recipient for Supervising First Aid in Mental Health, explained: “Tradition doesn’t mean staying stagnant.
“We believe in the power of change, and it starts by taking a proactive stance on mental health in our industry.”
“Our commitment to our employees’ wellbeing extends beyond profit margins,” she added.
“We are investing in their mental health, offering them the space they need to rejuvenate and recharge.”
