Paul Eastwood, who previously led a ‘Big Four’ tax practice in Jersey, joins KPMG as part of a series of promotions.

Commenting on his appointment, John Riva, Head of Tax for the Channel Islands, said: “Paul brings a unique insight in assisting our clients in navigating the issues and challenges presented by the Economic Substance Rules introduced in both Guernsey and Jersey at the start of the year.

“These rules represent one of the most significant challenges to doing business in both islands and Paul’s appointment leaves us confident that we can remain at the forefront in this area both locally and internationally.”

KPMG have also promoted Chris Lowe to Associate Tax Director, a “well-earned recognition of the hard work, excellent client service and wise counsel he has and continues to provide” Mr Riva said.

In Guernsey, Paul Beale has been promoted to Tax Director, Anderson Page to Senior Manager in US tax whilst Nana Aboagye and Matthew Thomas have been promoted to Tax Manager.

Guernsey Tax Partner, Tony Mancini, said: “I am delighted to strengthen our leadership team with this series of internal promotions that reflect both the success of the business to date and our confidence in the direction in which it is heading.”
