Lauren Perchard-Rees – a radiotherapy and oncology graduate and MA holder – is leaving the leading role after six years to continue work she began in 2021 with Government to design a support service for patients receiving radiotherapy off-island.
Head of Operations and Fundraising Stephanie Gibaut has become the interim CEO.
“Our strategy going forward ambitiously tackles the gaps in cancer care and the needs for services to be more joined up and meet the holistic needs of each individual affected – this includes their physical, practical, emotional, financial and spiritual needs as they change during their experience with/after cancer,” Ms Perchard-Rees said.
“I am delighted to be moving into a role that will focus on this strategy and the opportunity to work more closely with the Government of Jersey and the other cancer and community-based charities and organisations.”
Paul Savery, the cancer charity’s Chair, commented: “We are incredibly thankful to Lauren and for all she has achieved whilst in the CEO role and the positive impact she has had on those using our services. Her new responsibilities will see her play an important role in helping our charity achieve its challenging ambitions.
“We are also thrilled to promote from within our own ranks and support Stephanie in her new CEO role. She will bring her experience and energy to bear in shaping the way in which we engage with our teams and how we take our services to each part of our community. The health challenges we face as a society remain.”
