Erin Cowham completed two courses on Climate Change in tandem with the Trust’s ‘We Have the Power’ programme.
Funded by Jersey Electricity until the end of 2022, the focus of the programme will be on biodiversity loss recognising the causes and impacts of its loss and how to prevent this.
National Trust CEO Charles Alluto said: “Our Education Programme has been running for ten years and is an important part of the Trust’s varied work. Engaging young people in nature is vital for the future protection of our natural environment which is under threat more than ever.
“Jersey Electricity and its employees have supported the Trust on many initiatives, including our woodland restoration of Mourier Valley and our #LoveNature Festival.”
Jersey Electricity CEO said: “Climate change and biodiversity loss has never been so important and urgent, Jersey’s first Citizens Assembly gathers on Climate Change has just concluded and will now recommend how it feels Jersey can best achieve carbon neutrality.
“As a Company, we want to help inspire a zero-carbon future for Jersey and empower our community to play its part. We hope this new exhibition and accompanying activities will engage and inform all ages and encourage them to join JE and the Trust in Jersey’s fight on climate change and biodiversity loss.”
