Rob Veron, Blue Islands’ Managing Director said, “CityJet’s unrivalled frequency from its London City Airport hub provides our customers the much needed choice and convenience for travel across Europe. The codeshare not only allows passengers the option for travel to each destination every day, but also a choice of departure times from Jersey and even enables same-day returns to Amsterdam and Paris.”

One booking will allow islanders to fly daily to Amsterdam, Antwerp, Dublin, Paris and Rotterdam from Jersey via London City Airport, with destinations now being served up to nine times per day. Passengers will also benefit from APD (Air Passenger Duty) savings when booking connecting flights through the codeshare.

Earlier this year Blue Islands launched a new lunchtime service to London City adding to the choice customers now have when choosing connecting flights to Europe. This additional flight means there are now six flights a day on this service and an extra 25,000 seats per year.

Patrick Lukan, CityJet’s Chief Commercial Officer said: “We are delighted that our customers can now take advantage of the codeshare between CityJet and Blue Islands. We are convinced that this offers our mutual customers increased choice, convenience, and value by allowing them to travel from Paris, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Antwerp, and Dublin to Jersey by making an easy connection at London City Airport.”

Matthew Hall, Chief Commercial Officer at London City Airport said: “This deal is great news for passengers travelling from and to Jersey – both those already using LCY and new customers, as it will make their journey easier and save them time. The airport prides itself on offering better, faster journeys for customers and this announcement will strengthen our offer even further. We look forward to welcoming new passengers, connecting to Europe through the only airport actually in London.”
