The awards recognise the high calibre and achievements of individuals in Jersey’s boardrooms and are open to both members and non-members of the IoD. Three previous winners – Richard Rolfe in 2011, Eliot Lincoln in 2012 and Eamonn Elliott in 2013 – have all gone on to win their categories in the National IoD Awards.
The 2014 Director of the Year Awards, sponsored by Appleby and JT, will culminate in a celebration of excellence, innovation and best practice in Jersey business at a black tie awards dinner on Friday 16 May.
There are seven categories for the Director of the Year Awards 2014, including a new award that will recognise leadership in the growing field of corporate social responsibility:
- Director of the Year for a Small Organisation (less than 10 employees)
- Director of the Year for a Medium Organisation (11-100 employees)
- Director of the Year for a Large Organisation (100+ employees)
- Young Director of the Year
- Public/Third Sector Director of the Year
- Director of the Year for Leadership in Corporate Social Responsibility
- Global Director of the Year
Jason Laity, IoD Jersey branch Chairman said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the strength of leadership needed to deal with the wide range of issues that affect the success of local organisations, including the challenging economic climate, and I hope people take a few minutes to nominate someone that they know has made a real difference through their skill, dedication and hard work.”
Online nominations via www.iod.je are straightforward to complete and include a concise recommendation of up to 250 words outlining each nominee’s most outstanding achievements. For the purposes of the awards, a ‘director’ can include anyone that has the strategic responsibilities of a director but does not necessarily carry that specific title, such as a partner or head of department.
The nomination deadline is Friday 28 February.
