Pinewood Care Home has started a new chapter in local ownership following its acquisition by Lifeline Group.
The company stated that all 40 members of the team at Pinewood, which provides residential and respite care on Le Mont Millais, are staying on – so the 45 people who live at the home “will continue to be cared for by the faces they know”.
Lifeline Group chief executive Michael Kirkwood said there was “a great deal of knowledge and experience within the home”.
“We want to draw on that as we look ahead,” he continued. “For us, local ownership means being involved and accessible, knowing the people we work with and taking responsibility for the decisions we make.
“We’re pleased to have the opportunity to help shape Pinewood’s future alongside its residents, families and staff.”
We want families to feel part of life at Pinewood and staff to have a voice in its future
Lifeline Group managing director Elizabeth de la Haye
Pinewood now sits alongside Lifeline’s Community Care and Training teams, so people can be supported at home and, if the time comes, at Pinewood, with the same organisation behind them.
The team is also welcoming new support workers, with those interested in joining able to email info@lifeline.je
Lifeline Group managing director Elizabeth de la Haye said: “People should be able to carry on enjoying the things that matter to them, with the right support.”
She continued: “That means taking an interest in their lives, respecting their choices and making room for the everyday pleasures that make a place feel like home.
“We want families to feel part of life at Pinewood and staff to have a voice in its future. They each bring something valuable, and their ideas and experience will help shape how the home develops.”
