Randalls has announced that Gavin Reid has stepped down from his role as Managing Director after a three-decade long tenure.
The hospitality firm said Mr Reid played a “pivotal role in Randalls’ evolution and continued success”, and his departure brings to a close a “remarkable” 30-year career.
He began his journey in the 1990s at Chambers as an Assistant Manager, progressing through the ranks to become Operations Director, and ultimately Managing Director in 2017.
Under Mr Reid’s leadership, Randalls said it had undergone “significant transformation and growth”.
“Key milestones” included the acquisition of the Boat House, Anchor Club and Farm House in 2018; the opening of Beach Club; the conversion of Warehouse/Pure into the Oche Club, introducing electronic darts to Jersey; and the redevelopment of Wildfire into the 1823 Grill and Mulcaster.
Most recently, Mr Reid oversaw the launch of Nomu on Bath Street, which the firm said has received “widespread acclaim”.
Beyond Randalls’ food and beverage portfolio, he was also “instrumental” in revitalising Clare Street, transforming commercial and residential spaces, and securing staff accommodation to support recruitment and retention – a move Randalls said had a lasting impact on the business.
Thomas Greenall, Chairman of Randalls, thanked Mr Reid for his “outstanding leadership, commitment, and vision over nearly three decades”.
“His energy and innovative thinking have played a central role in shaping the company we are today,” he said.
“While we are sad to see him go, we fully respect his decision and wish him all the very best for the future.”
Mr Reid added: “It’s been an incredible journey and a real privilege to lead Randalls through such an exciting period of growth and transformation.
“I’m proud of what we’ve achieved together, and I’m especially grateful to the amazing team around me who have helped bring so many ideas to life.”
He added: “After nearly 30 years, now feels like the right time to step aside and make room for fresh leadership.
“I leave with the utmost confidence in the company’s future and with many fond memories.”
The Randalls board has begun the search for Mr Reid’s successor.
