Carey Olsen has promoted three of its Jersey lawyers to partner in its latest round of promotions.
Katherine Tresca, Matthew Ecobichon and Nick Ghazi, who are all qualified Jersey advocates and specialise in corporate law, will have their promotions effective from 1 July.
Ms Tresca’s practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions (private and public), equity capital markets transactions (including US and UK IPOs) and downstream private equity transactions.
She joined the firm in 2010, having trained and qualified as a solicitor in Scotland. She became an Advocate of the Royal Court of Jersey in 2021 and is also a member of the Law Society of Scotland (solicitor; currently non-practising).

Mr Ecobichon has been with Carey Olsen in Jersey for 21 years, advising clients on structured finance, securitisation and high yield transactions. The firm says he has extensive experience with listing specialist debt securities on TISE and regularly advises on transactions involving Eurobonds and other TISE listed securities.
He qualified as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales in 2007 and became an Advocate of the Royal Court of Jersey in 2009.

Mr Ghazi’s practice focuses on debt finance, particularly fund finance, real estate finance, leveraged finance and restructurings. He has expertise in advising financial institutions and funds on fund financing transactions.
He joined Carey Olsen in 2017, having previously worked with Addleshaw Goddard and RBS. Mr Ghazi qualified as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales in 2014 and became an Advocate of the Royal Court of Jersey in 2024.
“Katherine, Matthew and Nick have each shown exceptional commitment to providing the highest level of legal advice and client service,” said Simon Marks, Carey Olsen Jersey managing partner.
“These promotions are very well deserved, and they join the partnership at an exciting time. I have no doubt that Katherine, Matthew and Nick will enjoy their new roles and will each make a significant contribution to the continued success of Carey Olsen in Jersey.”
These promotions bring the total number of partners across the Carey Olsen group to 87.
