The Association of Guernsey Charities is pleased to announce that its Annual General Meeting will take place on Monday 13th April 2026, 7pm at the Royal Princess Performing Arts Centre.
This year’s AGM will give members and interested parties an overview of the AGC’s work over the past year, including updates on key workstreams, achievements, and the organisation’s strategic direction. Attendees will also hear early highlights from the 2026 Charity Sector Survey, offering insights across Guernsey’s charitable landscape.
The AGC was delighted that 37 of the successful deputy candidates supported the Charity Sector Manifesto at last year’s Election, and are welcoming Deputy Steve Falla, the Charity Lead for the Policy & Resources Committee, who will outline the government’s progress against the four key asks set out in the Manifesto.
Additionally, Nathan Goode from the Social Value Network will introduce the benefits of evidencing social value using a framework. The AGC is currently in an early exploratory phase, working with government and charitysector partners to understand whether such an approach could be feasible and beneficial. Nathan’s presentation will set the scene, explain the core principles of the model, and offer members an initial insight with the opportunity to ask questions.
Social Value
Social value captures the wider societal benefits an organisation creates, reflecting its positive impact on the community beyond financial outputs. It shifts the focus from simply measuring cost savings or immediate outcomes to understanding the broader value generated for the community and how this aligns with its longerterm goals and needs.
Wayne Bulpitt, AGC Chair, said: “As a membership organisation, the AGM is a key moment in the year to reflect on what we have achieved collectively, to hear from our members and the community and to look ahead to future opportunities and challenges.
“We are particularly pleased to welcome the Social Value Network and to introduce the concept of a social value measurement tool for the Bailiwick. Charities deliver vital work every day, but real impact can be difficult to capture and we are confident this tool could become a meaningful enabler in demonstrating the true value charities bring to our community.
“We also continue to work closely with government on a range of shared priorities, and while this work is still developing, we value the constructive partnership as we look to the future.”
