The Association of Guernsey Charities is inviting any prospective election candidates to a briefing event to learn about the charity sector’s role in addressing key challenges in Guernsey.

The briefing next Tuesday evening will launch the ‘Charity Sector Manifesto’, described as a roadmap for charity-government partnerships.

The event will be held at GROW from 18:00 on Tuesday 25 March.

It aims to address some of the challenges facing the island and how these groups can work together.

The AGC says the Charity Sector Manifesto could lead to changes in how charities and the government interact, potentially impacting various aspects of island life.

“We want to help potential deputies understand the real impact of the charity sector, explore its diversity and unique strengths,” said Wayne Bulpitt, Chair of the Association of Guernsey Charities.

“This event is a great chance to learn about the sector’s challenges and the collaborative efforts needed to sustain it.”

The AGC represents more than 300 local charities, said Mr Bulpitt, with them all offering a variety of services.

“Our community is facing complex challenges that cannot be solved by the Government alone. The charity sector is a strong partner in building a resilient future and we are invested in forging effective relationships with the future political leaders from the onset.”

Anyone interested in attending is asked to contact the Association of Guernsey Charities or book a space via the organisation’s Eventbrite page HERE
