Following the success of their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award drop in session the team from the Youth Commission for Guernsey and Alderney will be at Beau Sejour on the 26 February 2020 from 16:00 – 19:00.
With 830 young people aged between 13 – 24 taking part in the DofE scheme in Guernsey there is an expectation that the award is a school award but this is not the case and the Youth Commission is committed to make sure that every young person in Guernsey who wants to take part in the award does so.
If you are aged between 13 and 24 and you would like to discuss the possibility of doing your DofE or you want to find out what is involved please pop into the Beau Sejour on the 26 February where the team will be keen to talk to you.
Equally if you are working towards your DofE and you need some help in completing your award we will be there with the resources you need to give you that final push and get the award completed. We see lots of young people who have done all the hard work, been committed to their volunteering, physical and skills section, been on the expedition but for whatever reason have not signed off their sections and not completed their award. We will be there to help you.
The Youth Commission have other exciting opportunities coming up this academic year with a Gold DofE expedition planned and a Gold residential experience in Lihou. If you would like to find out more details about these exciting opportunities, please pop in.
