The GSPCA welcomed islanders to its final Cat and Dog First Aid Courses of 2025 this month.

Attendees learned essential skills to help save a dog’s life in an emergency. From CPR techniques to managing choking and injuries, the course provided practical, hands-on training for pet owners and animal lovers.

Steve Byrne, GSPCA Manager, said: “We are thrilled to see so many islanders keen to learn life-saving skills for their pets. These courses empower owners to act quickly and confidently in an emergency, which can make all the difference. Although this was the last dog first aid course of 2025 we have a cat course next week and more set in 2026.”
