The much-loved Normandy Market returns to Guernsey this autumn from Friday 10th to Monday 13th October 2025, with Market Square transformed into a celebration of Normandy flavours, crafts and culture.

Following the success of the 2023 event, Market Square in St Peter Port will once again be transformed into a busy, open-air market filled with French produce and artisan goods.

Traders from Normandy will offer a wide range of food, drink and crafts, including regional cheeses, charcuterie, handmade soaps, textiles and Normandy cider. The market offers a chance to explore authentic products and connect directly with the people who make them.

The market also provides an opportunity for Guernsey residents to purchase French delicacies that are currently unavailable for personal import. Due to ongoing restrictions on bringing meat and dairy products into the Bailiwick, these goods can only be accessed when imported under strict commercial rules. The French Market ensures that islanders can still enjoy these specialties safely and legally.

Deputy Sasha Kazantseva-Miller, President of the Committee for Economic Development, said: “We are delighted to welcome the return of the French Market. The market is a celebration of our island’s ties with Normandy and a shared heritage that stretches back centuries, as well as a chance to meet skilled artisans. The Committee looks forward to strengthening our relationship with France in the years ahead and exploring new ways our economies can grow together.

“The market is a wonderful way for families and friends to enjoy Market Square together, whilst for visitors it offers a unique experience that showcases the island’s strong European connections. Plus, at a time when personal imports are restricted, we are especially pleased to give islanders this opportunity to access authentic French produce.”

Zoe Gosling, Lead Marketing Officer for VisitGuernsey and the States of Guernsey, said: “We have enthusiastically supported the return of the Normandy Market, which offers an additional authentic experience for visitors – whilst also being something we islanders can enjoy. Hosting the Market in Market Square will bring visitors into the heart of St Peter Port, which we hope will also provide a welcome boost in footfall for Town businesses.”

The French Market will take place in Market Square, St Peter Port from 10 – 13 October 2025, with opening hours of Friday 10am – 7pm, Saturday and Sunday 9am – 7pm and Monday 9am – 3:30pm (please note the market may open later than advertised on the first day due to travel schedules).
