The news led to fears that the market wouldn’t be able to come at all.

However, organisers from the Maison de la Normandie de la Manche announced this afternoon that wouldn’t be the case, commenting: “We are happy to confirm that the popular Norman Christmas Market is back in Jersey!
“It will take place from Sunday 15 to Wednesday 18 at the Weighbridge from 09:00 to 20:00 on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, and from 09:00 to 17:00 on Wednesday.”
Despite the later start to the market, organisers said they still hope islanders will still take time to come down and enjoy the French atmosphere, with a hot cider and a crêpe in hand, while browsing the stalls in search of Christmas gifts.
There will nine traders coming from across the sea to offer a selection of French produce to compliment the Christmas menu.

This will include cheese, saucissons, white pudding, pâtés, vegetables, homemade sausage baguettes, biscuits and sweets, as well as cider, poiré, pommeau, calvados, apple juice and wine.
Cashmere jumpers and accessories, jewels, bags soaps and Saffron and Yuzu products grown and made in Normandy will also be available.
The Maison de la Normandie et de la Manche said the purpose of organising the market was to bring something different to the island, while promoting the quality of Norman products.
“Our purpose, at Maison de la Normandie et de la Manche, is to strengthen the relationship between Normandy and the Channel Islands by helping any cooperation project,” a spokesperson said.
