The Havelet Regatta returns to St Peter Port this coming weekend, bringing a free day of family fun to the South Esplanade and Havelet Beach on Sunday 28 June 2026.
Now in its fourth year, the community event, which raises money for the Guernsey Cheshire Home, has moved from its usual September slot to a new date ahead of the summer holidays, giving more islanders the chance to come along and enjoy the festivities.
Running from 12pm to 7pm, the Regatta will offer seaside entertainment, activities, food, music and games for all ages.
Programme favourites including the Ezyrollers, Dash and Splash and Have A Go Row will return, alongside sea-swimming and sailing races, a dog agility demonstration, arts and crafts stalls, fete games, food vendors and live music.
Event Organiser Barrie Duerden said: “Moving the Regatta to June helps us kick off the summer season and gives families, residents and visitors the chance to enjoy the day before the island gets busy with summer plans.
“The Regatta showcases the very best of Guernsey’s community spirit, with local clubs, charities, businesses and volunteers all coming together to create a fantastic day out for islanders and visitors alike.
“While there are lots of new additions, the heart of the Regatta remains the same: bringing people together for a free, fun and accessible day by the sea, while raising money for the Guernsey Cheshire Home.”
Last year, more than 3,000 people attended, helping to raise £12,000 for the Guernsey Cheshire Home.
Rob Shepherd, Chairman of the Guernsey Cheshire Home, said: “The Regatta is a very special day for the Home. Our residents love being part of it and feeling the warmth of the wider community around them.
“Every pound raised makes a real difference to daily life at the Home, and we are hugely grateful to everyone who makes this wonderful community event possible.”
