The States of Alderney has released the programme for this year’s Homecoming Day on Wednesday 15th December.

The programme is as follows:

09.00hrs – Church Bells will ring to coincide with the time the first homecoming ship arrived and disembarked

11.00hrs – Ecumenical Service at St Annie’s Church – all welcome Followed by a brief prayer at the Evacuation Plaque at the Court House

14.30hrs – Home-comers’ Tea Party – ‘A stroll down Memory Lane’ Musical entertainment from Rosie and Sam
NB this event is open to any home-comers and their family members – anyone wishing to attend should please call the President’s office on 820001 or email president.alderney@gov.gg so they can estimate numbers.

“Given the uncertainties surrounding the recent mutation of the Covid-19 virus it is now, more than ever, critical that we put in place mitigations around any large scale events.

“In line with the current guidance, we will ensure that the Hall is well ventilated, social distancing is observed and when not eating or drinking, masks are worn. In addition, we would ask all people attending to take a lateral flow test on the day.

“Whilst this is not ideal, keeping the community safe, continues to be our priority. Don’t forget to wrap up warm!”
