Written by Dr Jason Monaghan, the book is extensively illustrated with objects and artworks from the Museum’s collection. It takes the reader through 12,000 years of the islands’ history and prehistory.
Dr Monaghan said, ‘The book is aimed at tourists, older school children and the general reader who wants an introductory history of the Bailiwick. Its very pleasing that we now have a German edition to offer.’
A copy will be presented to the German honorary Consul Chris Betley on Thursday 15th March.
Mr Betley commented, ‘I know at first hand – my wife is a tour guide – the fascination and attraction that Guernsey has to many Europeans, particularly from Germany. This translated edition will be especially welcome to those wanting to know the true story.’
