What's it about?

The West Show Association is running its annual horticultural show in partnership again with the Jersey Association of the National Vegetable Society (“NVS”). The event will be held at St Peter’s Youth and Community Centre.

As well as the schools’ vegetable wheelbarrow competition, sponsored by the Channel Islands Cooperative Society, the show will feature the NVS’s very popular fun carrot competition. Other competition classes include displays of vegetable baskets, trugs of salad vegetables, vegetable cakes, animals made from vegetables and decorated pebbles.

There will also be displays of vegetables, Japanese flower arrangements and poultry.

St Peter’s Youth Project will be supporting the show and offering a bouncy castle, body-zorbing and Sumo-wrestling on the village green. Inside, there will be a children’s craft table. Ukulele Revival will be offering musical entertainment after 2pm.

Refreshments, including teas, sandwiches and cakes, will be served throughout the show. A number of stalls will also be selling their wares, including food and fabrics.
