Apex Group buys real estate software maker Retransform

Apex Group has acquired a company which creates software and provides business services to real estate companies.

The Bermuda-based firm, which has an office in Jersey and recently expanded its Guernsey operations, acquiring IP Fund Managers Guernsey, announced the Retransform deal on Monday.

This most recent acquisition should, the company said, help it partner with funds for the full duration of a fund lifecycle, and provide fund services as a single-source provider.

Retransform uses analytics to improve the real estate sector, making it greener and cleaner, according to the company. Apex Group said it planned to use this to create actionable and data-led insights for investors in real estate.

It has so far been owned by the Annet Group.

Apex also announced that it would establish a joint venture together with the Annet Group, developing software around real estate.

Peter Hughes, Founder and CEO of Apex Group, said that real estate, like every other sector, was being transformed by data and technology, adding: “Retransform is delivering an intelligent solution which is a key step toward delivering an innovative and sustainable real-estate sector, in line with the expectations of a growing number of funds and a growing body of regulation.

"As greater numbers of individual and institutional investors choose to invest in a way which doesn’t impact the earth, and a growing body of ESG regulation makes sustainable investment easier, Retransform has an important role to play in helping the real-estate sector adapt.

“Bringing this business onboard supports Apex’s mission to deliver a smart, tech-enabled, one source solution to fund managers globally."

Rohan Bulchandani, Founder of Retransform and The Annet Group, said: “After 25 years serving the real estate industry, we are excited to begin our next chapter at Retransform as part of Apex Group. We are joining an ambitious team who share our passion for innovation and continuous improvement."
