Barclays has recently appointed Simon Smith to head of corporate investments distribution in Jersey.

Mr Smith is responsible for Barclays’ investment management and brokerage services across Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man client base. He joins as part of the wider corporate specialist solutions team which covers cash, liquidity management and investment distribution across the UK, Gibraltar, Cyprus and the Channel Islands.

In this new role he will manage a team of investment specialists offering advice and arranging services to corporate, fiduciary, insurance, and family office clients and service delivery across these jurisdictions.

Mr Smith has worked at Barclays since 2012 as a senior manager with responsibility for treasury and brokerage solutions for the bank’s Jersey clients. Prior to this he worked as the head of corporate and institutional sales at another London based global bank. He is a full member of the Securities Institute and a chartered wealth manager.

Chris Golding, portfolio manager at Barclays, said: “Simon’s appointment as well as the increase in capacity for our advisory team for personal clients is a great boost for the investment opportunities available at Barclays.
