Boocla reaches 70% Kickstarter target with nine days still to go

Tuesday 28 July 2015

A clever class booking web application called Boocla has reached 70% of its $25,000 Kickstarter campaign target with nine days still remaining.

Pledges to back Boocla have been made in the past 21 days since Oi Labs, the innovation arm of leading Channel Islands marketing agency, Oi, launched on the world’s largest crowdfunding platform on Monday 6 July.

"We are really pleased to have received 70% of the backing needed to reach our target by Wednesday 5 August," said Boocla co-founder Ben Clarke.

Boocla has captured the imagination of investors from around the world and has received recognition from Digital Jersey and Guernsey’s Digital Greenhouse.

Using the latest Google technology, Boocla allows tutors, trainers, teachers and instructors to create a website in minutes then easily add, manage, sell, and receive payments for spaces at their classes. With Boocla, users can also text or email customers about upcoming classes, promote memberships and will have access to other built-in marketing tools.

Customers can create a two-step profile enabling them to find, book and pay for classes for anything they are interested in from music to martial arts.

Boocla also has a global class search function for people going away and wanting to book into classes anywhere in the world using their unique Boocla username and password.

"Boocla gives you a responsive website with an integrated class booking system and great marketing tools, for start ups or small businesses, for less than £160 a year on a monthly subscription basis, or low annual fee," said Boocla co-founder and Oi chief executive officer, Pete Grange.

"We’re excited to take a digital project, created in the Channel Islands, global and to be succeeding in gaining backers for it through our Kickstarter campaign. We hope this will encourage others in the islands to support us."
