Business brains to battle in charity quiz

Thursday 06 October 2016

Touch, taste, memory, speed - they may not the usual criteria to find the next ‘Mastermind’, but that’s how Carey Olsen will be rooting out the ‘cleverest biz’ in the return of its annual charity quiz.

Now in its third year, the multi-sensory showdown will see teams of six from any business, trade or profession across the Island gather at the Merton Hotel on Thursday 17 November to compete in various interactive rounds. Quiz master Nick Carver and BBC Jersey’s Charlie McArdle promise a varied evening featuring film clips, taste tests and voice recognition challenges.

There’s more to the quiz, which is hosted by Nick Carver and BBC Jersey’s Charlie McArdle, than mere competition, however. All funds raised on the evening will go to the firm’s two chosen local charities: RNLI and Stroke Association Jersey.

Last year saw 36 teams of business brains take part, raising over £7,000. This year, it is hoped that even more will put their heads to the test.

Chairman of Carey Olsen’s charities committee, Sue Cooper, commented: “The Carey Olsen Cleverest Business Charity Quiz, which is open to all businesses in Jersey, has become a much anticipated annual event with each company seeking to be proclaimed the ‘cleverest in Jersey’. We really want as many teams as possible to enter this year in an attempt to top our fund raising total of £7,000.”
