Carey Olsen has held its position as the only offshore law firm to be recognised in the top ten firms advising London Stock Market clients, in the Corporate Advisers Rankings Guide produced by Adviser Rankings Limited.

The law firm has retained its position, both as the number four legal adviser to LSE list clients and as the top ranked offshore law firm, acting for 91 London Stock Exchange clients.

Carey Olsen's position rose in the and FTSE 250 tables. The guide links its move to number two in the AIM table to its Offshore Firm of the Year award win by The Lawyer magazine, described as “yet another nod to the firm’s specialist expertise in this area.” In the FTSE 250 table Carey Olsen moved four places to number 11. The firm maintains 15th position in the FTSE 100 table.

For the very first time the results now include the leading law firms by total number of UK stock market clients in the eight main FTSE Sectors. These rankings confirm that Carey Olsen advises the highest number of clients within the UK financial sector, at 61, and is the fifth most popular adviser to the basic materials sector. Carey Olsen is the only offshore law firm to appear in the top five of these tables. The firm also held its leading offshore legal adviser position to small cap and fledgling clients.

Carey Olsen senior partner Graham Hall said: “Continuing to maintain a high position within these rankings highlights the bespoke offering Carey Olsen provides to our clients. The rankings continue to confirm our position as preferred adviser to the financial services and industrial sectors as well as being the only offshore law firm to feature in the industrials section within the areas of energy, environmental and clean-tech. Our top-five position in the basic materials category reflects the period of growth we have experienced in the mining and resources sector.”

The Corporate Advisers Rankings Guide is published by Adviser Rankings Limited and contains details of institutional advisers and their quoted clients. These companies are drawn from UK, Irish, Channel Islands and overseas-domiciled companies with equity shares fully listed on the London Stock Exchange together with UK and international companies with equity shares listed on the Alternative Investment Market. The information contained in the guide is provided by Morningstar and updated using primary sources together with information from the advisers themselves with authorisation from clients.
