A trainee administrator from PraxisIFM has been shortlisted for “One to Watch” in the ICSA Jersey Awards 2017.
“Sophie is definitely one of our ‘acorns’ and should have a great career ahead of her in finance”, said Richard Kearsey, managing director of PraxisIFM Trust in Jersey.
Having joined Praxis IFM in February 2017, Sophie O’Halloran has quickly become an integral team member, showing heaps of potential.
Educated at Le Rocquier School, Miss O’Halloran went on to study at Highlands College where she completed her Level 3 sport studies diploma.
After completing her education on island Miss O’Halloran travelled to Asia. In Thailand she embarked upon a three-month internship at a PADI Dive centre, and is now a certified dive instructor. Whilst in Thailand she also volunteered for Koh Tao’s leading marine conservation non-profit organisation, Eco Koh Tao.
In her spare time Miss O’Halloran enjoys helping out at the Bouley Bay Dive Centre. When not in the water, she enjoys going to the gym and boxing.
Typically, PraxisIFM trainees will undergo a three-month probationary period. But, due to Miss O’Halloran’s strong work ethic and aptitude for the job, her probation was confirmed a month early.
“Sophie is extremely well mannered and is already demonstrating strong communication skills. We believe she has a bright future at PraxisIFM and will be a great role model for future trainees.
“Sophie is self-motivated and quick to learn. She completes all her tasks accurately and efficiently with minimum supervision, leading to business expectations being met on a timely basis,” added Mr Kearsey.
The winners of this year’s ICSA Jersey Awards will be announced on 29th September at Hotel de France. A total of 44 companies entered the awards and 14 have been shortlisted across a variety of categories.
