Jersey Business adds to Board

Tuesday 14 January 2014

Jersey Business is recruiting a deputy Chairman to support the existing Board and management team.

Jersey Business is an independent body established two years ago by the States to provide support and advisory services for new and established businesses. As confidence in Jersey’s economic recovery builds, Jersey Business is seeing a marked increase in the demand for its services and the Board has decided additional resource and expertise will benefit the organisation and its clients.

Peter Funk, Chairman of Jersey Business said, “We are very encouraged by the growing number of businesses and people we are assisting, which gives a clear indication that the economy is improving. We provide a free, confidential service to individuals and businesses to help them create or develop enterprise in Jersey. The existing Board is exceptionally talented and is to be congratulated for the work it has delivered so far. We feel that additional resource is necessary to continue to maintain the momentum we have generated.”

The position of Deputy Chair is being advertised locally and the recruitment process will be overseen by the States of Jersey Appointments Commission. Applicants will need to demonstrate a history of successful organisational leadership and strong financial acumen, with an understanding of the Island’s economic challenges and an unimpeachable track record within industry.
