Jersey Dairy retains top grade in annual inspection

Tuesday 17 January 2023

Jersey Dairy has been awarded and maintained the top-grade AA status for the twelfth consecutive year in its annual BRC inspection.

This grade requires continued product safety, operational controls, and excellent quality services.

The British Retail Consortium (BRC) has set the benchmark in food safety standards for over 20 years and has constantly evolved to protect the customer. It has been adopted by over 20,000 sites in 130 countries and it was the first standard to be compliant with the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI).

Recognised worldwide, and developed with input from the industry, this important framework requires companies to achieve and maintain a standard of excellence put forward by the food manufacturing industry.

Magdalena Drabble, Head of Quality at Jersey Dairy, commented: “The AA certification is the highest possible rating for a BRC audit and reflects the great emphasis on quality and food safety that Jersey Dairy adheres to. All our products are subjected to rigorous testing at our laboratory.

"Our Quality Management System is designed to ensure that policies, procedures, specifications, HACCP, and BRC standards, plus customer and regulatory requirements are consistently followed.  Our overall objective is to ensure that all products leaving Jersey Dairy are safe for our customers and consistently of a high quality.”
