Leadership event to explore 'physical intelligence'

Monday 01 July 2024

An event focusing on how physical signals and responses can improve leadership skills, performance, and wellbeing is set to take place this week.

Leadership Jersey is hosting a session called ‘Harnessing Physical Intelligence for Leadership’ on 4 July at the Pomme D'Or Hotel.

The organisation, which supports the development of better leadership in Jersey, said the event will provide insights and techniques for improving leadership capabilities from speakers Kevin Chapman and Claire Dale.

Mr Chapman is a coach and consultant who has worked with major corporations including BP, Shell, and HSBC.

Ms Dale is a movement specialist and co-author of a book on physical intelligence – a methodology which she founded.

Physical intelligence is described as the ability to use the body's full capabilities to perform better.

This includes becoming more confident, enhancing brain power, improving mental health, reducing anxiety and stress, increasing energy and creativity, building resilience, and achieving greater endurance and happiness.

The event will cover topics such as the relationship between physiology and leadership performance, techniques for personal sustainability, and strategies for leading through change.

Tickets are priced at £25 for general admission, with discounted rates available for students and charities.

Proceeds from ticket sales will support the Jersey Employment Trust, which assists people with disabilities in finding employment.
