Local business kickstarts bright new line with online campaign

Tuesday 09 August 2016

A local business is kickstarting the launch of their new line in reflective cycling clothes with an online funding campaign.

Proviz have launched the world's first all colour cycling jacket with a 100% reflective outer shell.

The jacket that comes in blue, red, green, yellow or black, has thousands of tiny glass beads woven in to the material so it reflects any light shone on it, catching the attention of drivers and other road users.

CRS System Proviz Co-Founder Anthony Langly-Smith said: “Since we started Proviz nearly 8 years ago, we have constantly tried to push the development of cycling safety equipment. We believe that the new CRS jacket can help cyclists have a safe and comfortable ride, as well as being aesthetically pleasing.”

Mr Langly-Smith launched the company with his brother Rupert back in 2008, producing light-emitting and reflective cycling, running and outdoor products. He said they wanted to use Kickstarter to get their new jackets onto the market as quickly as possible.

Mr Langly-Smith said: "We have a very loyal following at Proviz, with some customers supporting us since we launched our very first fluorescent helmet.

“We wanted to repay the faith shown in us by giving our followers a unique opportunity to get their hands on one of the first jackets from what we think is an extremely exciting range. This campaign will also allow us to get the product to all our wholesale markets, much quicker than we would normally be able to.”
