Cyan Regulatory Services has appointed Philip Baker as an Associate Director.

With more than 30 years of experience of working in financial services, mr Baker has a background in compliance and risk management, in particular, in the funds and trust company business sectors where he has held a number of senior roles.

He joins Cyan from Saltgate, where he provided compliance and risk support to the company.  Prior to Saltgate, he worked for State Street in Jersey, where he was Head of Compliance and then led the Enterprise Risk Management function.

Mr Baker holds a number of qualifications, including a BSc in Financial Services, the STEP Diploma in International Trust Management and the International Compliance Association’s Compliance Diploma.

Chris Cooke - who, along with Nicola Crowell, is one of the co-founders of Cyan, said: "The principal asset of a company such as Cyan is the people that work there.  Philip’s appointment not only enhances the services we are able to provide, but it re-affirms Cyan’s position as a leading provider of regulatory consultancy services on the Island."

Mr Baker said: “I am thrilled and excited at the prospect of joining such a professional and dynamic organisation.  I have followed closely what Chris and Nicola have achieved at Cyan in a short space of time and I’m looking forward to the opportunity of fulfilling a role which I know will play to my strengths."

In his new role, Mr Baker will provide compliance and risk advice and assistance to regulated financial services businesses, using his knowledge and experience to help Cyan’s clients, whether by providing compliance support, undertaking investigations or assisting with preparations for JFSC examinations.
