Radisson Blu calls on corporate support for charity open afternoon

Wednesday 02 September 2015

Radisson Blu is calling on local businesses to attend the island’s first ‘open afternoon’ networking event for charities.

The event, which takes place at the Radisson Blu Waterfront Hotel on Monday 7th September, has been organised by the hotel and St John Ambulance, to enable charities to meet potential supporters.

"There are many great charities in Jersey who desperately need support and even more generous businesses who are willing to help them," said Radisson Blu’s Director of Sales and Marketing, Melissa Crowther. "The problem, particularly for smaller charities, is that many corporates do not know about the great work they do and therefore never get considered for their support.

"By hosting this event, which 35 local charities are attending, we’re hoping to match charities with businesses who want to help.  It doesn’t have to be financial support, support in terms of time is often most valued by these hard working local community groups."

The ‘charity open afternoon’ event will take place between 12:30 – 2:30pm. Charities will each have a stall that business representatives can visit to find out more about what they do and how they can get involved.

"We are proud to have teamed up with St John Ambulance to create this event, the first of its kind in Jersey. We think it will be a brilliant opportunity for businesses and charities to engage, particularly as many businesses will be beginning to consider which charities they’d like to support in 2016. Success for us would be seeing some great long-term corporate-community partnerships forged," said Miss Crowther.

Radisson Blu will be providing complimentary refreshments throughout the open day.
