Cloud seminar points the way forward

Wednesday 12 March 2014

New global communication technologies were highlighted by the industry’s leading thinkers at a seminar organised by telecoms provider JT.

Specialists from JT’s key technology partners were in the Island this week to provide local business leaders and IT professionals with an opportunity to hear more about emerging intelligent solutions, including cloud services and business continuity.

The keynote speech, Enabling Business Transformation, by Treb Ryan the Chief Strategy Officer for JT’s partner Dimension Data Cloud Business Unit, focussed on the advantages of an “agile” methodology. In summary, he explained how Cloud technology when embraced by a business can make a real difference to how it operates and how IT practitioners and employees alike can benefit from the user friendly experience that Cloud technology affords them.

Mr  Ryan has been instrumental in defining and creating services organisations that improve the quality and reliability of the technology infrastructures businesses depend on for communications and commerce. He is currently considered one of the leading thinkers in software as a service and sits on the Software Executive Board at the Software & Information Industry Association which is the principal trade association for the software and digital content industries.

Paul Taylor, MD for JT’s global business unit said: “Advancements in communication technology are rapid and it is our responsibility to help our customers keep up to date with and understand the technological infrastructures that can keep their businesses agile. We partner with companies that are at the forefront of the technology infrastructures that businesses depend on for communications and commerce around the globe and are delighted to create a forum for discussion around current trends and developments

Representatives from Cisco, OnDemand, Mitel, Radware and Meraki joined Mr Ryan to provide technical expertise in a live one-to-one environment for attendees.
