They've notched up 344 years’ between them working for the Co-op and it hasn't gone unnoticed.
Twelve employees, including four who retired in 2015, were all honoured for their outstanding commitment to the Society at a special awards ceremony last month.
Ron Morris who’s been at the Coop for 40 years, Angela Carson who’s been there 30 and Andy Buckley and Janet Cowdrey who have both been working there for 20 years all received long service awards.
Sally Curtis retired from her position as claims administrator in June 2015 after nearly 33 years at The Society, while David Palmer retired as manager of Grand Marché St Helier in September 2015 after 36 years.
The Channel Islands Co-operative Society’s Chief Executive Officer Colin Macleod said: “The Long Service Awards are an excellent opportunity for the Society to come together and celebrate the loyalty and service of our employees, both past and present.
“We pride ourselves on the quality of our staff and their commitment to providing the best service to our customers. It’s thanks to their loyalty that we are able to continue thriving as a business and I was delighted to be able share the evening with this year’s winners.”
Ron Morris received the award as the longest serving employee. Ron started his career in 1975 as a store man at the food warehouse at Beaumont, then went on to become distribution manager for food and non-food in Jersey and Guernsey. He was responsible for developing the Channel Islands food warehouse operation to incorporate new R.F. technology, which has brought additional efficiency to the operation.
The annual Channel Islands Co-operative Society Long Service Awards took place at the Somerville Hotel on Saturday 24th October.
