Three Partners named in Citywealth Leaders list

Friday 26 June 2015

Once again Hanson Renouf are proud to announce that three of our Partners have been recognised in the Citywealth Leaders List.

This is the tenth year of the list, which is compiled from the votes of a huge number of people within the private wealth management sector and their clients, extensive research, consultations and interviews.

Founding partners Advocate Timothy Hanson and Advocate Mark Renouf both make the list.

Advocate Timothy Hanson continues to be included in Leading Lawyers – Contentious Trusts ‘Honours List’. His recent work on the Jasmine Trust case has led to a number of significant judgments handed down by the Royal Court. These include the nature of a beneficiary’s interest when subject to confiscation proceedings as well as when the Court will hold such proceedings to be an abuse of process. He has  enjoyed recent success in acting for children against the States of Jersey in professional liability proceedings. Timothy was formerly President of the Law Society of Jersey which underwent a rapid programme of modernisation under his stewardship between 2012-2014.

Advocate Mark Renouf makes the same list, Leading Lawyers – Contentious Trusts, as a ‘Prominent Figure’. In recognition of his leading expertise in this area, he has recently had an article published on offshore trusts and divorce, in International Family Law 2015.

Thirdly, partner Advocate Barbara Corbett has been listed in both the Family and Matrimonial ‘Honours List’ and also in the ‘Power Women’ category. Barbara has prepared wide-ranging proposals for family law divorce reform in Jersey for the Jersey Law Commission and is working the Chief Minister’s department on changes to the law in this area.  She also provided a paper on the “Access to Justice” reforms currently being explored by the Chief Minister.
