Channel Island-based creative and digital agency, Oi, has warmly welcomed a commemorative award from the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising (IPA) in recognition of its long-standing contribution to the advertising industry.

The award is for Oi’s decade long relationship with the IPA, the world’s leading trade body for the advertising industry, which also represents the UK’s top 200 agencies, and being an IPA CPD agency for the past eight years.

“This marks a milestone for your agency’s membership with us. Members are the lifeblood, and it is your talent and enthusiasm that helps to make the IPA the world’s leading authority on the value of advertising,” said Paul Bainsfair, Director General of the IPA.

“I would like to thank you, your agency colleagues, for the important contribution you make to the industry through us, and hope that you will proudly display the enclosed commemorative plaque.”

Peter Grange, Oi Founder and Chief Executive Officer, said the unexpected award was a nice surprise.

“We love the IPA and what they do for the advertising industry, which is worth tens and hundreds of billions a year to the UK and US economies, respectively,’ said Mr Grange.

Oi was recently shortlisted as Agency of the Year at the 2019 global Travel Marketing Awards which takes place on Monday 11 March at the Park Lane Hilton in London. The agency’s Autumn campaign for client, Visit Jersey, has also been shortlisted at the Awards for Best Digital Marketing Campaign.

The Visit Jersey campaign video, partly shot in London, featured real people being asked both how they were feeling and how they wanted to feel. Many of their answers highlighted some of the general stresses associated with living in a city, leaving Oi perfectly placed to position Jersey as a tonic to city life.
