Organisers of this year’s Accuro Jersey Triathlon are calling for 50 volunteers to assist with the course marshalling on Sunday 1 July, ensuring a safe, smooth-running event.
More than a quarter off-island triathletes will be among 500 competitors set to take part in the event, which starts and finishes at Les Jardins De La Mer. Participants will complete a swim in front of Elizabeth Castle, a cycle route out to the West of the island and conclude with a running course around Jersey’s Waterfront.
Volunteers do not need any previous experience, just to be free for 2 to 4 hours on the morning of Sunday 1 July. They must be over 18yrs on the day of the race, or part of a recognized group under the supervision of a leader who is 18+. This event raises money for The Oscar Maclean
Foundation, which is a local charity that supports children suffering from cancer and other chronic illnesses, as well as their families.
Without valued support from marshals, this event could not take place. Anyone able to support the event by volunteering should email: info@jersey-triathlon.com or call 505926 to register. Manual volunteer forms can be downloaded from www.jersey-triathlon.com/volunteers.
