Deloitte Jersey has donated nearly £9,000 to charity partner Every Child Our Future (ECOF).
Employees in the Jersey office recently took part in a Dress Down week and raised money at their Summer Party for the charity.
Deloitte understands the financial challenges and cost-of-living crisis and in response to this made a £7,000 unrestricted donation to ECOF.
This latest donation is in addition to the £18,000 already donated to the charity over the last three years.
Deloitte has recently committed to another three-year collaboration with the local charity, as part of Deloitte’s Five Million Futures initiative (5MF). ECOF, in partnership with the States of Jersey Department of Education, helps local primary school children across 19 schools to improve their reading or numeracy skills.
Focused on inclusion and aligned to the UN's Sustainable Development goals, 5MF is part of Deloitte's Global World_Class_ commitment to empower 100 million people by 2030.
50 employees at Deloitte Jersey have given over 500 hours of their time to help primary school children with their reading and numeracy skills. 230 laptops have also been donated to ECOF over the last three years to help children with their digital skills.
Nic James, Director, Audit and Assurance at Deloitte Jersey, said: “Our people are passionately committed to ECOF and to ensuring that primary school children in Jersey thrive at a time when support is needed the most. We are delighted to present this latest donation and to be supporting the charity for another three years”.
Cris Lakeman, CEO of Every Child Our Future, said: “We are tremendously thankful to Deloitte for their latest generous donation and for the ongoing support their employees give to our charity.”
