It’s the third year the department has hosted this event. In previous years the conference has attracted more than 100 delegates from Jersey’s rural community.
The event on Friday 8 November will cover international, national, and local topics that are affecting Jersey’s agricultural industry. Speakers include:
Local speakers include representatives from Jersey’s agricultural industry, restaurateur and local food champion Marcus Calvani, experts in ecology, energy, and water quality from the Department of the Environment.
In addition there will be presentations from Jersey Business chief executive Andy Cooke, Woodside Farm’s Charles Gallichan on farm energy generation and efficient water usage, and Jersey Island Genetics general manager David Hambrook on the impact of the 2008 decision to allow bull semen imports.
The event takes place at la Mare vineyards. Registration begins at 9.30am and the conference starts at 10 am with an address by Deputy Carolyn Labey, Assistant Minister for Economic Development and the Department of the Environment.
