This Wednesday, 18th May, sees the inaugural 2016 direct flight from Jersey to Palma in Majorca, operated by FlyDirect, part of Channel Islands-based C.I. Travel Group.
Flights will again be operated by Spanish airline Volotea on a 125-seat Boeing 717 jet, departing every Wednesday between 18th May and 21st September. This will be the third year that FlyDirect works with Volotea, and the airline has become a firm favourite with regular clients looking for a fast and efficient connection with the Mediterranean.
The summer series of direct flights is experiencing a third consecutive year of record demand, and commences just a month after a sell-out winter sun programme to Tenerife. The company is also experiencing a significant increase in forward bookings for its October series to the Costa del Sol and one-off city break to Barcelona in September.
“As we begin another summer operating direct flights to Majorca, we expect a record number of clients to take advantage of the stress-free two hour flight and avoid the hassle and lengthy waiting times of travelling via the UK”, said Robert Mackenzie, Managing Director of C.I. Travel Group. “With flights available throughout the summer months and an increase in accommodation-inclusive package options, our direct holidays to the Spanish sun are more popular than ever."
