Leading offshore law firm Appleby has acted as Jersey legal counsel (with Norton Rose Fulbright as lead foreign legal counsel) to Sime Darby Property Berhad (SDPB) in relation to its listing on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad. The listing follows an internal restructuring of Sime Darby Berhad to unlock value and create potential growth opportunities.
The listing values the market capitalisation of SDPB at approximately RM 8.16 billion, being approximately GBP 1.52 billion.
The Appleby team carried out extensive due diligence on the Jersey incorporated entities which form part of the wider SDPB business structure and advised on all Jersey law aspects relating to the prospectus.

SDPB is a multiple award winning integrated developer based in Malaysia involved in property development, property investment & asset management, hospitality and leisure. It is also owns 40% of the iconic Battersea Power Station Development in London.
