Local law firm Appleby is sponsoring a second trainee at Beresford Street Kitchen (BSK), a social enterprise that provides training and employment for people with learning disabilities and autism. All profits generated through sales at BSK, go directly back into the charity and the more money they raise the more trainee positions they are able to offer.
During the trainee programme, trainees learn the basics of either catering, hospitality and retail or printing and production, as well as general skills important for work.
Appleby Partner Fraser Robertson commented, “Appleby is delighted to be sponsoring another trainee at Beresford Street Kitchen. Their placements provide opportunities for individuals to maximise their potential and to be recognized for their skills.”
Gabby Elmers, Managing Director at Beresford Street Kitchen added, “Beresford Street Kitchen offers individuals with learning disabilities and autism the opportunity to develop workplace skills and engage with the community in an inclusive, safe and supportive environment. With the continued support and sponsorship of Appleby we are able to continually offer more traineeships to individuals in the community.”
